Frequently Asked Questions

Can I take a test without Swedish social security number?

Yes, you do not need a Swedish social security number to test yourself with us.

What is a PCR test?

The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test is a NAAT (Nucleic-acid amplification) test, ie a molecular test that searches for the virus’ genome. At our clinic, we perform nasopharyngeal samples that are analyzed either by PCR or by antigen sampling. The nasopharynx sample is a sample taken by gently passing a tops through the nose.

The test is performed by medically trained personnel. Our PCR tests are analyzed in a nationally accredited laboratory, performed by healthcare professionals and signed by doctors.

What does the travel certificate / certificate say?

The certificate is issued in English and contains the following information;

Full name (must match the name on the passport).

Passport number

Date of birth

Results of the PCR test

Date and time of sampling

Date of issue of the medical certificate

We base the certificates on the information you provide when booking. Therefore, check these an extra time so everything is correct.

Who can test themselves with us?

You are welcome to test yourself with us if you have been symptom-free for the past 7 days.

If you suspect that you have covid and need to test yourself for that reason, you can contact 1177. You do not need a Swedish social security number or Bank ID to take a sample with us.

What is the difference between PCR and Antigen Test?

PCR, RT-PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test, is a NAAT (Nucleic-acid amplification) test, a molecular test that searches for the virus’ genome. The PCR tests are the safest tests we have to detect ongoing covid infection. The antigen test also shows whether you have an ongoing covid-19 infection or not. The advantage of antigen tests is that they can detect active disease quickly and do not require laboratory analysis. Antigen tests are generally easy to use and can provide answers within 30-60 minutes.

How do I get my certificate?

You will receive your digital travel certificate through the Coronafree App upon a negative test.

Which test should I book?

It is important that you check out what applies to your particular trip. All countries have their own requirements for what applies when entering the country. It is important that you plan for the sampling to take place within the time limit specified by the country. Some countries also require you to present a certificate when making a stopover. Always check with your airline and on the embassy’s website before you book your time.

Do you send certificates on weekends and weekdays?

Yes, we send certificates every day, including weekends and holidays.
